Find Joy Today

You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

Psalm 16:11

Interviewing Candace Cameron Bure for Wire Talk this past Tuesday was one of the highlights of podcasting so far! After 120 episodes, it was pretty fun to get set up for a remote interview and talk with Candace! (Don't miss our giveaway on Facebook and Instagram of her new book this week!)

She was just as you would imagine her to be, very kind, transparent, and warm. When we finished our podcast conversation, I felt like we could be best friends. One quality I loved about Candace was that she was real. She spoke about how her identity had been wrapped up in her acting and she didn’t even realize it, and how motherhood brought her to that realization. She talked about how her relationship with God really grew after having children, and she also talked about balancing her family, marriage, and career when she stepped back into the spot light. I hope you'll go and listen to our conversation if you haven't had the opportunity to do so yet. Even though you might think your life is very different from Candace's day-to-day, I think you'll see that as women, as mothers, and as believers, we have a lot in common.

My Tip on Motherhood for today is, find the JOY in your little corner of the world, whatever that looks like for you. Maybe that means putting down your phone for a minute and staring up into the clouds. Or turning on some music and dancing while your kids look at you like you're nuts. Or simply closing your eyes, taking a deep breath and feeling at peace in your body. Take time today in that moment of joy to connect with your heavenly Father, who is always waiting for you and wants you to feel the fullness of joy that only He can provide.

At the end of the day, we all have the same struggles and experience the same highs and lows. God is there for you through the mountains and the valleys. Reach out to Him.

On the day I called, You answered me.
