The Bottom Line During Middle School

During middle school your child is in physical and emotional transition. So many changes are taking place in their bodies, it’s hard to keep up! These are hard years, both for you and your child. Hard because most middle schoolers are insecure and they are desperately trying to figure out “who” they are.  The more you can do to help your child figure this out, the better off your child will be.  Observe your child, ask yourself the following questions, or even ask them these questions!

Is your child a leader or a follower? (Remember: one is not better than the other!)

Are they free spirits or rule followers?

Do they like sports, learning, music or art?

Are they an introvert or an extrovert?

Do they like a lot of attention or would rather be left alone by themselves?

The more you can learn about your son or daughter, the more you can help them grow into themselves. The middle schooler is no longer a little kid, but they aren’t teenagers yet either. Have empathy for your child, let them know you are FOR them, and help them discover who God created them to be. And hang in there momma, these years will be behind you soon, I promise!
